Heather was first introduced to Yoga in 1999, and was instantly hooked. She loved the beauty and grace of the Yoga postures and discovered strength and power in her practice. Having a teaching background, she decided to combine her passions and become a Yoga instructor. She has studied Iyengar and Hatha Yoga and is certified through YogaFit.  Heather also has a group fitness certification through AFAA, and has completed specialty trainings in Yoga, Mat Pilates and core training.

Heather views Yoga as a great way to sculpt and tone the body, building strength, flexibility, endurance, balance and coordination. Yoga also brings self awareness and an enhanced feeling of being centered, grounded and able to respond to life’s challenges with intention and purpose.  She welcomes beginners and provides excellent verbal instruction, and at the same time is able to challenge those seeking greater depth and difficulty. Emphasizing mental awareness of body and breath, Heather helps class participants let go of outside distractions, enjoy their practice, and feel empowered and energized as they leave. 

When not teaching or practicing Yoga, Heather enjoys reading, shopping, cooking, gardening, and watching her boys play sports. She loves books, music, movies and good food.  The combination of body awareness, power and personal growth led Heather to study Kempo for the last three years and currently has a Green Belt ranking.  Heather spends time with her husband and two boys going to beaches and lakes, camping, hiking, riding bikes, road tripping and exploring local places and events.
